This is the wall behind the Sam's Club off of I20 in Benbrook. It was an interesting job. It was about a quarter of mile of wall that required a forty two inch double pipe rail barrier. It couldn't be shop made because the it's grade was erratic to put it mildly. It needed to be built in place and it spec'd out with two inch (2 3/8) schedule forty galvanized welded.I got the call.Lucky me. Attached Imageslife is good
Reply:A concrete coring company did the holes. I machine notched the posts and then Quick Rok'd them in. I'd tack up the top rail. And then I'd come back and write the measurement of the length for the intermeditate rail to be cut and notched by my helper. Now I set my posts for grade and line by eye. Since the coring guys weren't quite as concientious as myself and the boys who built the wall sure wasn't I had to have all my posts long and then I'd cut them for height, different for each hole. This is the same view after this section was complete. Reply:No I didn't have the helper notching each intermediate rail with a portaband, silly.I made this for my Vogel pipe notcher. After all we were working on the high side in that gravel area. Attached Imageslife is good

Reply:W-H...That looked like one heck of a project...nicely done. Do you bring in the pipe stock in galv. and only treat the joints with cold galv. compound? |
