Here are the pictures of my first project. The welding cart was a priority due to the fact that I live in a townhome, so keeping things out of the way in the garage is a must (by the way...my garage is normally much more clean than this...but this project tended to make a mess). Well, hope you all enjoy...and critique is definetely welcome Attached Images
Reply:Really nice job for a first project. Interesting design also.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:thanks smithboy that means alot to me coming from you ...as for the design...I really haven't seen anyone do anything close to the way I built mine...but I tend to over-engineer things (whether that's good or bad...?)
Reply:If you put a small floor on the bottom you'd have room for CO2 and a plasma torch. Great job!!

Reply:Well, here it is with the plate on the bottom, and a pic of my grizzly bandsaw...I couldn't do 1/100th of the things I do without it (ohh and man does my garage need to be cleaned up) Attached Images
Reply:You need a garage so you have more room for tools.
Reply:well.... you can call that a welding cart if you want to.... but it doesn't really qualify until the top is so covered with crap that it's totally un-useable for welding... and merely a mobile horizontal storage area. now get to work cluttering..nice job and I like the design... you left a nice 'bottle space'laterjohn
Reply:Very nice. I have something similar, but made it from an old shopping cart. I really like the front steer. Makes it easier to park. The difference between yours and mine is that have a Cronotron storage under my Tig welder. I haven't "finished it yet as I always find a way to "refine" it. Mine also looks super crude. I used as much of the shopping cart as I could.
Reply:Nice lathe too. I have been debating a lathe purchase, is it like welding do you find yourself using it more and more?

Reply:FYI, here's a pic of my welding cart. The horizontal shelves are bolted to the uprights and can be moved as needed to accomodate changes in the equipment. Tanks are stowed in the rear. Works for me! Attached Images- "If ya can't be handsome, ya may as well be handy!" HTP Invertig 201Lincoln Power Mig 255CLincoln SP125+Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38 |
