I'm fixing to convert a utility trailer into a crawfish boiling outfit for a customer and he wants to install 2- 25 gallon propane tanks just in front of the fenders, but flush with the outside, so they don't stick out past the fenders, and I was wandering if anyone knows if there's any laws that prohibit this. I've always seen them mounted on the front hitch. Thanks for the help and MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone.
Reply:They are mounted on the front tongue on my 18 foot cargo trailer. You should be fine as long as they can be securely fastened.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:Sometimes folks cut corners a little sharp with trailers and hit stuff, that's how alot of trailer fenders get mangled up. I would re-consider hanging the bottle off the sides even with the fender lips. I would want them on the trailer deck or on the tongue, anywhere inside the frame rails is fine. Hanging them out there off the side is asking to lop one off and send it rolling down the road on it's own.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Think of it the same as auto manufacturers have to think about the gas tank, (at least l would); keep it inside the frame rails. "SOUTHPAW" A wise person learns from another persons mistakes;A smart person learns from their own mistakes; But, a stupid person.............never learns. |
