This is a few pics of a car i built for my kids. It took over 100 hrs to build, but wanted it to look good.  The processes I used to weld it with was mig and tig. The wheels are 12".  Powered by a 12V starter/generator. The steering  wheel it steel wrapped with leather and hand sewed, 10 hrs for that alone will run about 5 miles an hr, and i even sat on it to try it.  With me on there it didn't even grunt.  Kids love it. My dad built my sister and I one when we were kids, out of plywood from popular mechanics magazine, mine is all steel and will last forever. I just hope the kids don't hit the my car or truck with it.  Because it will leave a mark. lol Attached Images

Do you have plans you dont mind parting with.  Im really interested.  My fathers been a subscriber of PM for years, but I cant say Id ever find the right mag.  He ends up throwing away after he reads....one of them thingsIF it Catches...Let it Burn

Reply:Yes plans are in Oklahoma and I'm in AZ right now the starter generator came off old 50's model with some internal wiring changes to it, and yes i put a 12V batt. in it for power.  Yes it has reverse. The brake is a pulley on the rear drive axle with a belt cut and a hooked to a cable then ran to a peddle in front.  When you press the brake the belt tightens around the pulley and slows it down from the friction. The magazine must have been from the 60's or 70's Because my dad made our first one in 1979 and the second one in 1981.These other pics are me then and now. 1980 and 2006 Amazing i even had a mustache then.
