Hi everyone. Here is a project I did last year using an old Coke cooler. I dragged the old 1955 cooler home and not wanting to restore the ugly thing I decided to turn it into a Coke sofa. Here's a pictorial of the event. Reply:Very nice indeed.    Just hope that this thread doesn't show up in collector circles, there will be broken hearts andangery voices. It looks like you have the "sofa" in a store, do you do these sorts of things for resale?    If it is  astore let us know where it is.    Not to advertise of course, just so we can inspect the welding ThanksDave
Reply:Hi everyone. Thanks for your kind words on my work. None of it would be possible with out some good welding equipment. I have to answer a question from ZAPSTER. All the remotes are for another project I completed a little while ago. I took an old 1959 gas pump and turned it into an entertainment center that features a TV, DVD and a VCR. Although I can do the restoration work I don't have the smarts to put all the items in one remote! Wizard this is just a hobby for me. These things take so long to do I could never make any money selling them. Not to bore the heck out of everyone but below is a picture of the gas pump entertainment center I did and to it's left there is an all aluminum gas pump I made out of two sheets of 1/4  aluminum plate. It was completely TIG welded (I didn't have a spool gun at the time). The place you see the collection in is where I keep this stuff. As I complete something it goes directly to there. Thanks again everyone for your kind words. There are allot of talented folks on this site from what I've seen so far! Have a great day. Reply:Looks Good ,even though I work for the other side (Pepsi). You got lots of neat goodies
Reply:That is really nice, who would think of making a refrigerator into a couch! Did you do the paint and upholstery yourself?Sure, I can fix it... I got a welder!!!
Reply:fwalz3 I did the fabrication work, body work, paint and air brushing on all the stuff here but the upholstery was done by a lady up the road from where I live. She said she enjoys doing my work because she never knows what I'm going to come in with next.kamhillbilly I appreciate the compliment but man you got to come over to the other side, follow the light man!! Reply:Very nice work. So, is that your living room, den area or collectible room? John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Great work Paul your workmanship shows a huge attention to detail. well done.Simonhttp://members.optusnet.com.au/~abba/index.html
Reply:Thanks John and Simon for your kind remarks. I started collecting this stuff about five years ago and as I would complete a piece I would store it and start another project. well I had so much of the old junk around my wife and I decided to put up a small building to put it in. As I mentioned above this is just a hobby but it's very rewarding as is anything all of us do I'm sure. I'm presently fabricating a tubing notcher and will post a few pics of it when I get it completed. Here's a picture of the building the collection is in. It's on the side of our main shop and I added a picture of what it looks like when the door opens. We have two sons. Both of them are in the Canadian Armed Forces. Last year I completed two theme items in there honor and it was a Hugh hit. If anyone wanted to see them you can see them be going here http://www.newfoundlandmotorsports.c...wtopic&t=13256 . These two items are all custom done including the graphics and there was alot of TIG welding to get them like they are now so I hope you like them. Hope everyone out there have a safe and happy day. Reply:I can't relate the first thought that I had when I saw the photos of the finished product as expletives aren't permitted on this forum but wow, that is very, very cool.I think that perhaps you underestimate what you might be able to sell the finished product for.  There are folks with lots of money that would be willing to part with a significant sum to have something as unique as that sofa.-Heath
