Reply:Thanks for posting the pics.  It's always nice to see the work from a master.  Does the finished surface achieve a seal by slipping into O-rings?
Reply:that i'm not sure of because there is no "o" ring wear from the begining..was kinda sharp lookingbut the tolerance is so close that i'm guessing a high pressure seal thats like a really high performance grease seal  ...zap!Last edited by zapster; 07-19-2006 at 08:43 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:nice fix, I have a question on those grinders, like a surface grinder I suppose, how can it hold such a tight tolerence with a rock wheel? Doesn't the wheel wear as you go?  Always been something I wondered, I never used one.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Not only is it nice work your approach is clever too.  Taking the time to document the progress of the job and take pictures is a very smart idea.  I know it sounds simply but often I get too entrenched in the process.  I don't know how many times I get a project done and think to myself -- It sure would have been nice to have a "before" picture.  You can really appreciate the work involved when you document the steps.
Reply:thanks everyone for the kudos..hell i have nothing to hide..and kinda enjoy doing posts like this...its not everyday that average people get "up close and personal" with machinery like this...so i'll let everyone in on how its done in a shop that takes anything and everything in...if you want me to stop then...too bad..  if 2 people learn anything from what i do then i'm a happy zap!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Could you just hardsurface those and then machine it down, that would maybe help it wear a little bit longer????......Just an idear.Miller blue star 2eLincoln 175
