A while back I posted pics of our new bender and roller at work. Unfortunately there was no place to hold the dies and rollers. They are so heavy and awkward to store. So this is what I came up with. I was careful to make sre that none of the pieces will interfere with its operation. The first picture is the bender the day it arrived. Bill Attached Images
Reply:Hey nice job WBut then you did have a real nice bender to work with ...Washman
Reply:Yeah about the bender.I used the old bender to do the work because I knew the math on that one.
Reply:nice work now it looks like a top fuel benderChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:interesting design you have there... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:That's trick.Speaking of math....I have the JD2 Bender and they instruct you to bend a scrap piece until you get what you want and then note how many degrees you had to bend it. That way you know how much springback the material has. Then they say to just keep that scrap piece around to use as a template. I dunno....Nobody I know does it that way, usually they keep the numbers in their head like you. But I didn't have any more room in my head for all those numbers. But, again, that die holder is trick!! I wish I thought of it. I would say you could try to sell it to people...but I guess if they already have an RMD, they can make their own. hahahaHey, nice job!Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:I should hope that if they have the machine, then they have the know how to make it.As far as springback goes, my general rule is this. On 2" OD shedule 40 when bending a 90, I add 3.5 degrees of springback to the program. Half of that on a 45 degree. 1" schedule 40 is about 2-2.5 for a 90 and so on. I am sure I could math it out for every angle but hey, its aluminum. We have always used templates and patterns for our work, but if space is limited its not practical. We are slowly getting all our work into books and everything actually written down on paper. Trying to get out of the old school way and such.Bill
