I started a few new projects the first one is going to be a TV unit of sorts so far the cook is happy with it although she has only seen these's pics as I 'm doing at work in my spare time .If worse comes to worse I'll turn it into another tool box for the shed  second one is a rod twister I saw one on here so thought I would have a crack at it. Its nothing special  as it will mostly like only get used very now and then its half made so far and tested it works just got work out how I want to mount it Attached ImagesLast edited by wello; 06-28-2006 at 06:53 AM.Creative metal Creative metal Facebook

Reply:#1 the bar twister...slick  #2 the t.v. stand..my gosh you could park a bus on it with no risk of collapse... i dont think its going anywhere..(you may want to brace the floor where its going )...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:What size square bar is that you have twisted Wello, your twister obviously works well they look straight and even. How are you going to finish the TV unit off what will you use for shelves, Will the boys in the spray shop paint it for you. Please not TNT orange.I like what you used for the pin on your twister slide.Simonhttp://members.optusnet.com.au/~abba/index.html
Reply:zap its not as heavy as it looks its only 1.5 mm rhs looks bulky a legacy of working on heavy duty stuff for so long if it does long big I'm not happy  I used 1/2" bar Simon  1st go at doing it didn't think it would work out so good now I'm trying to find plans for a scroll bender as I would love to make so stuff for my daughters new house she likes fancy metal work I have some 16mm mfd board I'm going to use for selfs  I'm getting it sandblasted then the boys in the paint shop will paint it for either a blue to match the lounge room or black TNT orange would find me out on the street  I'm still toying with the idea of working some ally checker plate in it some were much to wifey's dislike  Creative metal Creative metal Facebook
Reply:Wello I have made numerous scroll benders and jigs over the years, If you like one day when your doing nothing drop over and we can knock a few up for you.A lot of the things on my website were made with them and some on the anvil. We are in the middle of renovating our house, and I will be doing a fence for the pool, some garden arches and other little projects.Simon.http://members.optusnet.com.au/~abba/index.html
Reply:finally finished it and set it up today had to wait till I finished painting the lounge room you'll be happy to know zap the floor is doing fine  Creative metal Creative metal Facebook
Reply:I like the twister. I have seen several of these made by others and all use ratchets for the twisting. I made a large wheel, kinda like you steer a ship with. You can stand to the side and pull down on the handles and it make it quite effortless. One handle was a different colr so you could count revolutions so all your bars would match.Later I got really lazy and mounted a 1:60 gear reducer on it and a variable speed reversing motor. That made it so easy to operate I sold it to a fence company. They were buying twisted pickets and this thing could twist 1/2"X20' all day long.Maybe I need to make another one.Last edited by Bob Warner; 08-26-2006 at 09:59 AM.
