What "size" portable generator would I need to run my Millermatic 140 outdoors? Would a 2400 watt one work? I've been thinking of buying one for outdoor use,but would rather ask first.Drink a Guinness Draught....Millermatic 140Do you still rememberDecember's foggy freeze --when the ice thatclings on to your beard isscreaming agony.
Reply:You need a CV/ CC power source. Welders don't just take a full load of power, they need it to flow uninterrupted, and most generators don't work in this fashion. The minimum size I'd try to use for a 140 would be a 5500 watt generator, but even then, I'd only do it as a last resort. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Thanks,I'll take that into consideration, appreciate it Drink a Guinness Draught....Millermatic 140Do you still rememberDecember's foggy freeze --when the ice thatclings on to your beard isscreaming agony. |
