I am looking for plans or ideas on how I can build an electric motorized dolly with reverse that I can use to help with parking my boat in the barn. I have looked through the forum, but have not found anything.

Reply:ThanksBasically its just an expensive place to be with family/friends and consume adult beverages.....
Reply:I looked into buying one a few years ago when I was considering moving my travel trailer around. RV mags have them in the back page ads. They run about 1K or more and have a ball on them. Like Weldordie said, they have more than one wheel on them for stability, but look pretty much like his. I like the idea of making one much better.http://www.powercaster.com/Check this one out! Looks like just what you needhttp://www.eztug.com/Hobart 140 Handler w/ gasHyperTherm Powermax 380 Plasmaoxy/acetylene
Reply:That last one only moves trailers up to 3500 lbs. I don't like that design at all where it stays mounted to your trailer.
Reply:the 2nd design looks ok for smaller boats, i still think building one would be more fun though. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:These guys started out copying the Power Caster product. They have since developed some other new versions including a DC one.http://www.powermoverinc.net/index.html
Reply:If your one to do a little tinkering and thinking about your projects, think of using an old walk behind front tine tiller. With the addition of a few pieces of angle, f/b, ball and changing the pulley sizes, you can have a self-propelled trailer/boat/tug of amazingly strong ability. Removing the tines and adding 2 pulling tires/wheels and some rear weight is what I ended up with.I have one on the farm, but have no pictures of it. It started out as a late 60's Sears tiller and is now moving those items making it much easier to mow without having to hitch up to a truck or tractor. This affair has and uses the original forward and reverse handles that were mounted on the handle bars.Works well and the engine never has to run above a fast idle to move a 24' Invader with 2 140's on the rear.LW
Reply:thats a great idea. i got one of those old tillers. it was my grand fathers, still runs great. now if some one will just give me a nice or even soso 24' boat i'll be set. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
