Fired up tig for practice

Heres some practice welds I made tonight.   I will warn you I'm new at welding and tigging in general.  I have only used it about 10 times with no training.Cleaned the area with wire wheelNo filler rod used on this jointFiller rod used on this onemachine: Lincoln Precission 225Gas: Pure argon set to 15 psi for valveAmperage set: 160 and using foot petalHoping i didnt leave anything out.  Let the words fly.
Reply:I can't really say much (still shoping for my TIG) except that your wasting argon on steel other than that practice, practice practice.
Reply:I have some AL to weld but I wanting on my buddy at a fabicator shop to weld up his huge AL project since he said I could practice tigging there and they will give me tips on site.  Plus nothing wrong with steel
Reply:Wasting argon on steel? I don't really get that, since you can't tig w/o shielding gas, whether you are doing aluminum or steel. Other than that, looks pretty good for a start, from this beginners perspective anyway - John

Reply:duc    your welding looks good to me, for only 10 minutes practice. Iv'e been scracth start tigging since august. Have had lots of gas welding experance. Keep welding and you will only get better.
