This is the project we (a student and I) as part of the complex assembly course. It is made out of 1/8" steel, legs are HSS 2x1.5, door is made out of angles.. every external welds are buffed even tho they were awesome eh (GMAW)Now these are pictures of the day school students' fireplace.. they had to redo twice the same fireplace, and it is still ugly and crooked. Judge by the welds (1" wide welds?!?!?!)I'll take pictures of my personal project this week, a weight bench (bench press, sit ups, and modular).
Reply:Here's a preview of the bench (SolidWorks )

Reply:Solidworks 2006 I just started learning it, can't really make any "assemblies" that rotate and stuff.. or things like gas tanks or anything "rounded".. yet It's an awesome program!

Reply:You need a trap door of some sort on the floor to sweep all the ash through ..... looks good
Reply:Looks good! Nothing like free metal to build a project like that. Ah, how I loved high school shop class!! John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
