I just got done building a torch cart and thought you guys might like to have a look at it so here it is. Attached Images
Reply:Nice I like it any pics while building it though ..
Reply:Sorry, no pics of it in progress. I still have to build a cart for my new tig machine as well as a new bench and I will be sure to get some pics of the work in progress from now on.
Reply:liking the reel up front, keeps things tidy.the thief of hearts     www.jamfab.com
Reply:Nice job!!
Reply:Great idea mounting the reel right on the front of the cart.  Such a logical thing to do and this is the first time I have seen anyone do that.
Reply:Thanks for the compliments guys. I hate tripping over cords and hoses that are always laying on the ground so I figured this would be a good idea. At first I was concerned that when pulling on the reel I might drag the cart around but its heavy enough that it doesn't move at all. If it becomes necessary I can back some of the tension off on the reel when the bottom of the cart gets smoother from use.
Reply:That looks fantastic!  Great job, the reel is ingenious...Thanks for sharing.  Look forward to seeing the next project!  I weld just to keep my snow plows ready for next Winter!
Reply:now thats neat.. where i work its a "modified hand truck"... lets leave it at that... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:i agree  WELL DONE

Reply:I think you should think about selling them.  Honestly, like everyone else here, I'm sure, we use a gas cart with the hose wrapped aroung the handles on the back and your goggle hanging of the O2 bottle.  You'd have a ready market.I r 2 a perfessional
Reply:What do you think they are worth? I added all the materials up and in materials alone I have over 300 bucks in it an thats without any labor added in. For the amount of time I have in it I'd have to sell em for 500 bucks.I'm sure the time could be drastically reduced with jigs etc. Basically I built the cart on the floor because I havent built a bench yet...lol. I'm gonna have to get to that bench project soon, workin on the floor really sucks.
Reply:I regret to inform you but your idea will be stolen and one built in my shop. Great idea.If you are not going to do it right...Why bother? My retreat http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gall...&albumid=20987

Reply:looks good but also looks awful bulky and heavy. id imagine that it would take up alot of space and cost a fortune in iron to build that. again good but bulky.
Reply:Cracker you are right down the road. Ever get to harlem much?If you are not going to do it right...Why bother? My retreat http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gall...&albumid=20987
Reply:big, I dont think Ive been to Harlem since the 80's. I remember us playing the bulldogs  in football. It's been a loooong time.   teknition, sorry for the hijack."I need this parade like I need a hole in the head"~John F.Kennedy
Reply:Thanks for the compliments and comments guys.  As far as being bulky and heavy, it's supposed to be. If it was light and flimsy it would get pulled all over the shop when you pull the torch out. It does take a bit more space than your average cart but the convienience of having the reel seems worth it to me. My garage is 24x30 so I have a fair amount of space. If I had to try to work in a single car garage I probably wouldn't build a cart like this, I would have hung the reel on the wall or ceiling. One advantage to doing it this way is that if I need to use the torch out in the driveway I can do it quite easily.
Reply:Beeauuttiful man.  Makes my cobbled up thing look ragged.
Reply:I remember this one. Its worth it to save those pics so you can make one yourself when yours dies.Very cool.Bill
