Reply:OK, I'll be -real- picky.Generally you seem to have a nice consistent weave pattern going on once you got going. But in pic 017 in the last seven weaves your pattern and rhythm sort of faltered and lost consistency. And your pattern varied in size/spacing over the course of your weld, tight at the start and much looser towards the end. Also in pic 017, you have an ending crater. In pic 017, from about the 12 o'clock position to the 10 o'clock position from the hole in the horizontal plate you seem to have some questionable toe wetting onto the horizontal plate. Toe wetting to the vertical plate looks pretty consistent and even though.Did you have enough gas flow? Because your rainbow colored and inconsistent oxidation pattern of the weld says your gas coverage may have been a little on the low side (or too high and you had swirling or turbulence).Section and etch the piece and let's see the penetration and fusion. It's a whole lot better looking than my welds! Keep up the practice!
Reply:These were all continuous welds.Although I did use the pulse to get the feel for stich welding but once I got the concept I turned it off. These welds were made at about 125amps with about 15 cfh of straight argon.
Reply:Very nice, consistent weld, good shielding. |
