Hi thanks for looking, I'm new to welding and I absolutely love it. I started welding 3 days ago, and I'm burnin em up like a madman.I have a old school Miller model 88 AC 250 amp welder which works pretty good, at least I'm happy with it for now. Please take a look at one of my welds and let me know how I'm doing thanks in advanceThis was done with a 6013 set around 110 amps Attached Images
Reply:Looks good. What rod are you using.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Wow!!!!!!! Pretty good for a guy that just started welding 3 days ago. Especially for using 6013.Put that welded piece into a vice and hammer on it until the welded pieces break. Where it breaks will tell you if you got have a good weld or just a good looking weld.Last edited by specter; 03-31-2010 at 04:37 PM.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:Most newbies wouldn't even think of starting to weld with a 6013 rod. We have some seasoned welders that do not like 6013 because it difficult to get a good look weld which most customers want.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:I'll keep em coming, I have a few different rod types, I've got some 6011's, 6013's, and some Atom arc AC 7018's so far I like the result from the 6013's I take my time and maybe I'm doing something right or wrong, but after running my bead, the flux peels right off for the most part, a couple of taps and its clean. |
