OK, so I pulled the plug and got a Lincoln 175. Plugged into my dryer outlet, and went to work.Attached are a few pics on 2x2x1/4 angle welded to some 1/4 tube I had laying around. Then went to work on it with a 10# sledge. Attached Images

Reply:Hahaha...now hit it on the ends, near the welds. Grrrr, dang metal won't break!John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:It took about 10-12 whacks to get those results!
Reply:Trust me..That would hold up a bus... But lets see the Welds.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:nut unh...That was the first thing I did with the welder....Beads are ugly getting wire speed and gas set up!!! Excellent penetration though..a little undercutting on some of the joints...If you really want to see them, Ill get pictures though....I did have one joint that for some reason it looked like the gas was off. I moved over and just ran a bead on the tube and it looked great, went back to this joint and still got pores. Must have been some crud on the steel.
Reply:Allright..Your off the hook this time seeing that its all brand new..But you have acheived weld strength to some extent and thats good...practice practice practice..I could use more practice on a real gas mig... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Ya, I know all about it. I called my friend out there today and she said it was sunny and hot. I told her to kiss my butt. John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:Sounds way too cold for my California blood.  I'll stick to sandy beaches and desert racing!! What type of trailer are you building?- Paulhttp://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories
Reply:Theres a picture in this thread....http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=8692Of my current trailer.Im going to extend the length to 12' and keep the width at 5'.  Im also going to put another axle under it. I mill a bit of wood on occasion, and also have a wood splitting business and routinely overload my current trailer. Not to mention this is not lite....My home built splitter. Attached Images
Reply:I have a 22 ton logsplitter.Had to fix it though..I like the 4 wheel drive concept.. Thats really nice!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Zap...I kept looking at manufactured splitters and was thinking the same thing..."Ill have to fix this, fix that" So I ended up building my own.
Reply:Hey! is that thing self propelled? I've been thinking about building a self propelled wheel barrow. I have a pretty steep bank in front of my house and I have to wheel my wood up from the driveway. anyone built one of those? "Every choice you make will effect at least one other person"
Reply:as ZAP said that could  hold a bus...But try laying just a bead on top...and hit it from bottom....It is easier to see your penetration and your welding skills.... My Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!
