I decided to try to build some motor mounts instead of paying $200 for specialty conversion mounts.I'm still a newbie at welding/fabbing so I thought I should post these here and see what you guys think? It's a stock 1979 Ford 302 out of an F-150 so it shouldn't have any real motor mount ripping power.  The Jeep is a 1982 CJ-7.Let me know what you think, more re-enforcing or if it just looks like crap or is dangerous, I can take the criticism This is the right mount, I haven't started on the left yet;[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]Jordan
Reply:Looks plenty strong. Should hold that little 302 right in its place. I would maybe try to make them just a little more compact. Seems to stick above the frame rail alot. Maybe change the angle of the main support.Patriot Performance AutoLincoln Power Mig 255CLincoln AC-225 StickVictor Journeyman O/AQuincy QT-5 Compressor
Reply:whoa, whats that sitting next to the jeep?  Sorry, Ive never done something like your trying.  Seems to me though that what youve got there is even better than the original.  Is that oil filter gonna clear the frame?Various GrindersVictor Journeyman torch200cf Acet. 250cf oxygenLincoln 175 plus/alpha2 gunLincoln v205t tigLincoln 350mpEsab 650 plasmaWhen you can get up in the morning, Its a good day.Live each day like its your last.

Reply:They look plenty sturdy although I'd try to use what looks like the original mounts (just forward of your mounts). The motor/trans. swap makes sense, should be real easy! Once again - nice car! Reply:that coronet is gorgeous. and 1 of those fords looks awful ready to build (or drive) as it sits there behind that duece.5 (which looks like all sorts of fun to by the way). id be hard pressed to justify spending money on a motor if i had an easier swap already sitting next to a project myself.keep us posted on the new mounts, and all your fun lookin projects

Reply:my buddy had a fifth ave. with a 440, that thing was hard to beat, quiet exhaust and hubcaps, he surprised the hell out of alot of ricers!!!!! He had put a total of 6 rear ends in it though, he's too cheap to spring for a decent one...LOLMiller blue star 2eLincoln 175

Reply:Originally Posted by coronet440I can attest to that.  I had a '67 Dart with the 7 1/4 and a 1976 360 which was mostly stock + 4 barrel.  That rear lasted a little while since it would never hook up. Oddly, it went out when I was just driving at 60 mph, not doing a burn out or messing around.  Looked like a cross pin broke.

Reply:What year is the millitary truck in the picture and could it be for sale...????Where about's are you...????
Reply:Don’t forget; You’ll need slots in your motor mount brackets, if you want to install the engine while the mounts are bolted up tight.NEVER Let oil come in contact with oxygen.   I will not start stupid threads.Don't forget the upcoming air bumper test!
