Bike Rack Paint suggestion?

Hi,I've been lurking around her for a while and you guys have some great projects and information.I have a simple side job I have been asked to do bending up some of the wave style bike racks.  I mostly do automotive stuff and am not sure what the best solution would be to coat this with.  I have been looking at a few different products and have seen the rust-oleum industrial Protective Enamel.  Is this a good solution for the rack being outdoors and getting banged by the bikes or do you guys suggest something else?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Robert

Reply:for lasting protection polyester powdercoating might be your best bet.I see some of the commercial rack suppliers use it.  post a pic.
Reply:I'm still in the quoting stage, and I have looked into powder coating, but was hoping for a painting proccess to save money to the customer.I put it in my cad software and this is what it looks like.Thanks guys.Robert
Reply:Id think that some spray on rubberized bedliner would be the best long term solution that wouldnt scratch up the bikes...Rhinolining comes to mind as being better than others since its softer.Id definitely powdercoat before Rustoleum with this application.Ah!  How about the 3M automotive undercoating spray?  Would be the best of both worlds, and inexpensive if you bought it in bulk.ThermalArc 185MillerMatic 180 w/ AutosetVictor Cutskill Oxy/AcetyleneThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38and spite!
