Reply:I would seriously advise you against transporting your cylinders inside of the van. Sorry, I do not have any suggestions on the security question.
Reply:If they are in a van, why do you need extra anti-theft protection?
Reply:bad *** dog
Reply:the only other option is to get a trailer and mount em that way or buy another truck and take them out every night the van has big windows and are easily smashedmiller maxstar 150 hobart handler 210 w mig conversion hobart 250 arc force plasma cutter boston ind cutting torch miller performance auto darkening helmet milwalkee 14in chop saw 10,000 watt generator huge drill press and industrial band saw
Reply:I would worry about your tools first. I am not trying to be a smart guy but I don't hear too often about cylinders being stolen. Not much return on risk, but I am just guessing."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:You could build a cage around them inside the van. Another way would be to purchase a van interior rack system with a tall lockable cabinet and put the bottles in there. Adrian Steel makes van cabinets/racks, as do many others. I wouldn't have a service van without interior racks, they really help with organizing, creating open cargo space in the middle and generally make it easier to work. My pop didn't have racks in his service van and I hated working with him cause the van was always a complete disaster inside and took forever to find or get at stuff on the job. I kept suggesting racks, which he was dead set against. Finally, I convinced him to try racks and found some good used ones for cheap, helped him put them in and now he loves them, says they're the best thing he ever did to the van.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:I would look into putting some expanded metal over the windows from the inside, And some stronger more secure locks on the back.A little known fact by anyone outside of the community of thieves On an E-series van you can unscrew the licence plate light and get right at the lock rod without damaging anything.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:You could whack a notch into the body and have an "outside" area for bottle storage, with locking bars securing the bottles.Locks only keep honest people honest. so have an alarm and some sort of disable switch, like a toggle wired into the inertial fuel cutoff switch, to keep the vehicle from being driven even if the ignition lock will let it crank. |
