You mentioned that the right place and order for tack-welding prior to finish welding. A later post mentioned tack one place and then the 'other side' as fast as possible. I took this to mention that, for example, welding a strap to a strap in a T-configuration, you would either clamp/whatever the piecec, confirm measurements, etc and then tack one inside corner at one end and then quickly move to the opposite side and tack so the tack welds are basically back to back, right? After these first two, would you move to the other end of the piece--let's say it's two feet long? How would you proceed once you do your first tacking pair? Thanks.
Reply:Something that long would definatly be clamped..But the steps are the same..(Are you sure you want me to answer this..someone may have a problem with this "c" welder).. I would clamp it..Check it.. Then tack the ends on the ends..Then one in the middle..one opposite ..fast..Check it..Then starting at one end...Go up an inch or so..tack it..Other side up about the same amount..tack it..No go to the opposite end and do the same thing and go back and fourth untill you get to the middle..Now check it with a square..You'll see.. ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
