Reply:I've seen a few people use engine stands, particularly the 1,000 lb. units, cut them, make them taller and attach the legs with a removable piece.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:A guy I know was a clay modeler for Hyundai or Kia, can't remember which. He came to me and asked me to build one for his shop. I had no idea what the hell he was talking about and it sounded like more hassle than it was going to be worth. Looking back I should have built it and just charged according to my time and materials. I could have made a decent piggy bank deposit. Argh...well, I was only in my first year of business and it was a little bit out of my comfort zone at the time. Good luck building yours! I wanna see how you do it. Reply:Not sure how much your car weighs but I made one for my 2400 lb MG project that you could beef up if you needed. Picks the car up from ground level which is a big plus for me. Reply:Originally Posted by gnm109That is a fitting end for an MGB. Maybe you can fix it so that the clutch works and it won't leak hydraulic fluid on your ankle while you are at it. I owned an MGB once and developed a healthy hatred for it. Hope yours runs better than mine did,
Reply:Thanks guys for all the help and sites. And Jim, that is a GREAT LOOKING PROJECT!!! That'll be one heck of a ride when you get it finished. I've been wanting to do something similar for some time now but just haven't decided exactly what I want to use. I definately want some type of small sports car and I'll have to use a FORD setup, haha.
