Anyone weld up a brushhog blade?

I have a friend that asked me if I could weld his brushhogBlade. Seems it broke dead center on either side of theShaft hole.Figured I'd ask you guys first before I told him yes....G.
Reply:I have welded a new edge on a dull blade that is strong and NOT BROKEN, I would not weld back together a broken blade..go to tractor supply and for under $50.00 you can get a new blade....its cheap insurance..when you hit that rock and the weld lets loose whose gonna get whacked with the flying blade..
Reply:If a flying BH blade were to hit someone it would be bad so welding up the mounting hole would not be worth the risk as mentioned by everyone.Now building up a worn cutting edge would be fine.
Reply:I wouldn't want anything to do with that either. BrushHogs are supposed to have a shear pin in the drive line so that they don't break blades and for that to have happened tells me that he probably has a regular hardened bolt in the PTO shaft, so the next time he breaks a blade I would just as soon he does it on a blade that I haven't touched.

Reply:A brush hog blade weights 20 to 25 lbs and will be thrown at more than 100 mph. Than there is the mater of the other blade, with the imbalance caused by one blade the whole brush hog will buck like a bronco. If the blade split, there are some serious metal problems. You are just begging for trouble as others point out.
