really being the right man for the job isn't always the best deal. this is our transporter it is fully inflated airbags scarry knowin im welding on the airtankseven know there was support under the back there is three inches between the frame and the concrete when the rig is deflated meaning im a pancake

Reply:Never take chances in confined work space.I'm sure you where probably welding on a bracket, but a lot can still go wrong.What if a you melt a hole in a nylon airline? The books are full of strange coincidences with bad timing, causing catastrophic loss. It's just not worth chancing. Break that habit before it breaks you!By the way, when can we have a "transporter" tour?Many happy repairs!
Reply:no really there was no way of anything of happining there was 20 ton bottle jacks holdin the rig up it was takencare or properly thanks for your concerns.really im in a professional race shop. we have all the means necessary means of keeping me safe. theres is three rules we work by rule #1 never get hurtrule #2 never loose your sence of humor #3 is you have to sing even if you do not know how you make the words up.
Reply:FThat!I was welding on a 1 ton crew cab dually chevy with 454 in it. Not the heaviest thing in the world, but heavy enough to hurt.I got out, grabbed a coke, pulled the jackstands out...took a drink....BAM! Freaking bag blew up. Whole truck dropped frame rail on the concrete. Nice. Apparently you can get some spatter on the bags and it can have a very delayed failure. I now use a mock up bag when welding.
