I just finished another engine bay brace for a different race team on Wednesday.  The part was still hot from welding when they were bolting it to the car for its first test session.  This time I got pics of the brace being made and installed on a finished car, so more interesting to look at than the last post...Fitting up the joint where the 4 tubes come together - fun angles to work with:The joint after welding:Installed in the car with all the gusset wraps in place:For more pictures visit http://tubularfab.com and click on the Photo Gallery link.Jason
Reply:What is up with the little tiny air intake tubes?
Reply:What kind of car, motor, etc.?
Reply:I 2nd the tiny intake tubes...very different from the norm. Normally aspirated car, right?Nice work Jason!John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Probably in a class that requires intake restrictors.  When I did the SAE car at Ohio State, we had a similar setup.Way cool!
Reply:That looks really nice. Great job. Do you install some tube joints to make the crossmember removable, or just cut them out when you need to do engine work?
Reply:Yep, the car runs in the American LeMans sports car racing series, and also at the 24 hours of LeMans.  The rules for both are very similar, and call out a restrictor size for each class that competes.  I don't remember the size for GT-2 where this car runs, but it's amazingly small for only 2 of them to be on a 500hp car.The brace bolts in, so it is totally removable.
