Like the title says, this is my first attempt at TIG welding in over 3 years other than a bit of 23guage stainless on a recent job. I have been practicing to get some new certifications. I never really TIG welded stainless pipe, mainly just aluminum so on top of being rough around the edges with TIG this was sort of a new thing to me.Took a bit to get dialed in with different sized filler rod and amperage but you can see right here I got it down. Right after this weld my aircooled torch fuzed itself closed and I couldn't open it to change the tungsten so I am in the process of getting some new fittings to hook up my water cooler and water cooled torch to my welder so I can give it another go.What do ya think?
Reply:I see a spot weld!!!! Or is it a pinhole?? Looks pretty good, but limited size pic. As for the torch, I have done that, too. Try to heat it back up, and then loosen it when it is hot as hell. Better have some pliers around to use! When you put it back together, use never-seize, or copper paste on the threads. You may have to work that collet back and forth a bunch to get t out of there. Just be patient, it will come out.
