I picked up a small 110 Lincoln setup at a yard sale the other day. It is running flux core right now, but can run gas, the guy threw in a large seperate pure Argon cylinder with it. Besides the cryptic stamps, the thread ring has raised letters that say HC-6000 after some online reasercah it turns out to be a 6000 psi high pressure designation, with about 540 cuft of capacity. Is this a normal welding cylinder for pure argon processes? Do you think I can exchange it at praxair for a mig mix?
Reply:You can ask, I looked those up and they are silly expensive! No, they are not normal around my area.Matt
Reply:You may want to keep that for tig welding at some point in the future, or sell it to someone with a tig or aluminum mig machine that needs a big argon cylinder.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
