PROMIG 175 Cart

Well...here it is...I was tired of rethreading the little spools for the machine with my 15 lb spool so I decided to make a new cart for storing my baby in my room and adapt the big spool to the frame.It has to be small so I can maneuver inside the house till my room, so here it is...The feeder seems to work fine...as you can see its a 3/4 nut welded to the base and the bolt has a 7/8 tube welded to it, I wondered if metal to metal would cause enough friction to stop the spool from unrolling, so I had some 10 ga. electric wire and give some turns to the tube for increased friction, seems to work out fine. No critics on the welds, I made this so fast I couldn´t weld correctly, my dad is waiting for his grill and some parts are just tacked...ohh, hopefully the welder won´t move much so I can take it outside to weld inside my Baja (if I ever get to own a bug), well gotta plan for the future!Any coincidence with the gravity racer, it´s not mere coincidence!Enjoy Attached ImagesMy Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!

Reply:thats ok , elvergon , we mostly use ours just as a standby machine ad when we have to go somewhere to weld parts so the bottle just gets dragged along with it and sat next to the machine , one thing you might want to do as we did with ours was made up a cover for the wire out of some canvas to stop dirt and moisture settling on the wire while your using it we just made it civer the spool and has a hole in it for the wore to come out of .  it isnt nessecary but a good investment if your working outside in the elements .

Reply:you can see the a little bigger than 1/2" hole...It doesn´t has any protection for the wire, I need to see if it gets to hit the walls...if so I´ll put something of nylamid over there... Reply:Looks great man.  How does the taller bottle hold up on your base?  I was hoping to skin the base of my cart but if just cross supports work then I will try that.Come try it out and stay a while.
