I had no plans on going to the shop..Untill the phone rang @ 5:30 this A.M... Boss said the drum has to be welded so machining can be done first thing Monday..So I drag my a$$ outta bed and head in... Someone has to do it.. Here's the drum..Journal weld..Outer edge..And as a take home "present" for coming in today I get one of these..Middle finger just below the knuckle torch hand.. While wire brushing the outer weld all I did was hit the outside of the tube and that happend.. The tube was not sharp..Just very hot.. That is a "burn slice" as we call it..And now it will be days untill it heals...Funny how those things happen just before you leave for the rest of the day..I get all the fun jobs... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Can't the boss weld?Your welds, in their entirety, are some of the best I've ever seen. Some look so robotic I think you must be part cyborg.Neosporin on cuts and burns promotes faster healing.WeldingWeb forum--now more sophomoric banter than anything else!

Reply:that is some awesome stuff.Since it hasn't been asked...was that done by stick?to my "untrained" eye, sort of looks like it...and BTW, the pics you put up a while ago when you welded the copper tubing, I am compelled to try that one day, so I can show off to my boss; that is if I can sucessfully pull it off. I don't weld for a living, but I work with copper on frequent occaision. I convinced my boss to issue me a stick machine on my service vehicle (old Invertec 250-S), but he never really lets me weld anything, we have a full time welder on staff that takes care of any welding needed. I think the last time I welded something on the job was a year ago (or more...).I know you did that on the positioner, but that was done using fusion alone, huh? no filler...?any tips before I attempt that?Last edited by eastcoasteddie; 06-16-2007 at 09:34 PM.
