Fuel tank from scrap

We built this tank for my buddies commercial mower yesterday, just killing time and beers. It's 6061 aluminum from an old road construction sign. I welded it with my Econotig and 1/16" 4043 filler. I'm still not so great with aluminum, but I was pretty happy with it. I'm alot more comfortable with it now though, after laying 92" of bead on that tank. If nothing else it was good practice, and  fun to build. And no, I didn't steal the sign.  I have a stack of them from my dad's old business. Reply:I am wondering then, about the Econotig, that machine does aluminum...how well? Barely, OK, pretty good, what? I have another week before registration. I hope to get into the tig class. But I was also wondering if spending the bosses money on an Econotig would be worth the trouble. Reply:Looks like fun.  Nice work.What did you end up using as an outlet?Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.
