My son collected some lengths of stainless round bar stock from the clean up at a job site. He was going to take it to a scrap yard and they would give him $.60/lb.It seems like a shame to just scrap this, as some of teh lengths are 12-14'. This is 1" diameter stock. I have a couple of questions;1) Is there a way for a layman to tell what grade this material is?2) What kind of shop would be likely to use this stuff?3) What do yu think you could sell it for? Thanks

Reply:A machine shop would be most likely to use material like that, but they are going to want to know what grade it is.Any decent scrapyard should have a machine that can tell the composition of the material.Have we all gone mad? |
