Read a couple of threads recently about cutting a propane tank, for a cooker. How about a home heating oil tank? What precautions should be taken; whats the safe way to do it?
Reply:I have a buddy that has a bbq/smoker made out of heating oil tank. It works good.I would say steam it, grind and clean it very good, and I would burn a lot of plain wood(very hot) through it before I put food on it. I believe that heating oil can impregnate the steel and stick around for a while. Gotta burn that crap out of it. |
