For y'all that haven't read about it, I bought a welding bed for $100 from the boneyard. It's in decent shape, needs some rust repair and a coat of paint and it'll be good to go. I don't have pics right now, if the yard is open tomorrow I'll get 'em. It's got a lot of big toolboxes and spaces on each side of the bed for oxy/acetlyene cylinders. There's a good sized workspace on the back with spaces for vises and it has a V channel on the very end. I think it has a gooseneck hitch but I can't tell since there's about 250lbs of scrap laying on it. I should have the bed by Friday. I'm either going to have to haul a$$ and finish the trailer I've been trying to build, or borrow one which would work better. Again the pics should be up tomorrow! Reply:Didn't get the pics today, it rained again and he closed early. He's going to look at a flatbed my Dad wants to get rid of tomorrow, so it might just be an even trade instead.Last edited by RobertDoubrava; 03-28-2006 at 06:34 PM.RD 1984 Chevrolet C30 welding truck1966 Lincoln SA200 Continental F162 1942 Lincoln SA200 Hercules IXB-51991 Lincoln LN25
Reply:A comment on his sae 300 . It has a CONTINUOS  AMPERAGE  control. So  sweet. My linc S A 250  deisel doesn't ( although it does weld VERY nice )
Reply:Didn't get the pics today either. I'll go out there tomorrow, hopefully I can catch him while he's still there.Yeah Roy that SAE300 is a **** good machine, I'll be using it for a long time. That old Herc engine still runs great, it had a lot of work done on the engine in the early 70's. 1 new piston(piston skirt broke on one), cylinders honed, all new gaskets/bearings, and a valve job.RD 1984 Chevrolet C30 welding truck1966 Lincoln SA200 Continental F162 1942 Lincoln SA200 Hercules IXB-51991 Lincoln LN25
Reply:Well here's one picture of the bed(i accidentally deleted the other pictures  ). I'll try to get some more as soon as I can. Attached ImagesRD 1984 Chevrolet C30 welding truck1966 Lincoln SA200 Continental F162 1942 Lincoln SA200 Hercules IXB-51991 Lincoln LN25
Reply:Well I made a down payment of $10 today, should have the bed by next Monday.  I'll have to borrow a trailer from my Great Uncle and haul it to Grandpaw's so I can work on it once it's payed off.RD 1984 Chevrolet C30 welding truck1966 Lincoln SA200 Continental F162 1942 Lincoln SA200 Hercules IXB-51991 Lincoln LN25
Reply:Hey, what rear end do you have in that truck? I have a Dana 70HD that I pulled my 4.10s out of and swapped in the 3.73s and added a Gear Vendor Overdrive unit. If you need the 4.10s, let me know. Mine were in great condition, but what am I gonna do with them now?Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:In what truck? The one in the pic is the truck I'm taking the bed off of. It's about an '83 or '84 Chevy, I wish it was complete or I would've bought the whole truck since that's what I plan on dropping this bed on. My truck has 4.10's but it has the obsolete Eaton/GM 10 bolt rear, looks like a F0rd 9". That's the highest ratio I can get in this old rear, it's good enough for a work truck till I get a dually. That truck does have a D70, but the axle shafts are sitting on the bed and 70% of the truck is gone. I plan on having 4.10's with a posi in my new (to me) dually, but 3.73's would be nice. Hadn't found one yet though. But if you don't need the R&P, try putting 'em up on eBay or list 'em here if you're not already a member: www.67-72chevytrucks.comRD 1984 Chevrolet C30 welding truck1966 Lincoln SA200 Continental F162 1942 Lincoln SA200 Hercules IXB-51991 Lincoln LN25
Reply:Well I still hadn't got the bed yet, nobody needs any welding done and there's no work at the boneyard either. This Saturday I should be hauling some I beam for the boss though(about thirty 20ft sections) and maybe that'll pay the bed off. I hope. Anyway, now I have my "truck trailer" finished with the flatbed mounted on it. I'm gonna pull it to the junkyard tomorrow and leave the bed there so I can try to sell it since we don't need it. Anyway here's a picture of my truck I took yesterday just for the heck of it: Attached ImagesRD 1984 Chevrolet C30 welding truck1966 Lincoln SA200 Continental F162 1942 Lincoln SA200 Hercules IXB-51991 Lincoln LN25
Reply:Little update here, tomorrow morning I'm gonna pull my great Uncle's trailer to the yard and get the bed and bring 'er home. All the junk is cleaned off of it that you see in the above picture, and it's ready to get lifted off the old truck. I'll be sure to take some pictures.RD 1984 Chevrolet C30 welding truck1966 Lincoln SA200 Continental F162 1942 Lincoln SA200 Hercules IXB-51991 Lincoln LN25

Reply:Thats a chevy 14 bolt if anyone was wondering... Not a 9"! SHud be able to throw that 14 bolt under your truck with the 10 bolt. Just measure perch width. 10 bolt is useless, yet chevy boys still use them, and blow them up daily.
