Fitting new turntable

had a nice easy job today we had a dolly in that needed a new turntable or fifth wheel as you guys call them started out by digging the trusty gouging tip out of the toolbox blow the old table off .sit new one on after taking of the feet and putting them on the right way they sent it up with the feet azz about face and them weld it up in my state the law only calls for 450mm of weld along at least 3 sides but I prefer to put a 3 run 2 layer around the whole foot the little black thing is a foreign order its not mean't to be in the pic  ready to go to paint

Reply:Very nice work.  I have to replace a king pin and plate in a log trailer end of the week.  I'll try to get some pics of it as I go.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......

Reply:thanks guys hey Jackson are fitting a bolt in pin or weld in if its a bolt in job a 9" grinding wheel is pretty much on the money for a circle template for the boss like in these pic's
Reply:Wello, I have never seen the bolt in pins before.  I might could use those sometime.  Almost all of the trailers I deal with are weld-in pins.  Usually in 3/8" plate, and I weld in a piece of I-beam right over the pin and tie it in to frame to keep the plate from flexing and breaking the pin out around the welds.  Most of my trailer clients will tear up the plate or break the pin out before they wear out a pin....I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
