Am looking to get a new water cooled torch for a PT-185. I have an older used one from  the farm I picked up for now. But NO one seems to carry the lincoln brand in stock or even online.  I prefer to keep everything lincoln, and the parts are interchangable between these 2 torches. I was told atleast by the LWS.  Also does the WC have the flex hoses like the lincoln series.  On another note the lincoln offers a water solenoid for water cooling. Its supposed to adpat right on and only turn on when the welder is welding. It runs off of a domestic or pressurized water supply and then just dumps into a drain. Anyone use this or have expirience with it ?????  TIA500 AMP AIRCO TIG LINCOLN PT185 100% DC @ 128 AMP-WTFSPEED GLASS 9002X MILLER THUNDERBOLT 225HOBBIEST TURNED WELDING JUNKIE8 2ND FIRECAT - SNOWMOBILE RACE CHASSIS FABRICATORPRIDE IS WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK SO GOOD
Reply:Good morning,Weldcraft used to make all of Lincoln's tig torches. Weldcraft was bought out by ITW Corp a couple years ago. Since ITW owns Miller Electric, I do not know if Weldcraft is making Lincoln's torches for them. The water solenoid works great, the only trouble you could have is if your water preasure from your tap is to high, it could blow the lines off your tig torch. A water cooler operates on fairly low preasure. Weldcraft has "super-flex" power cables also. They are great but do not hold up as well as a standard power cable.
Reply:MY water cooler runs at 50 psi.  Cant be much different than fresh water supply.  Weldcraft torches are fine for me.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Any ideas of where to order the lincon, ??? I searched their site and went to every link they had for a supplier of the 20 and nada so far. Not even a response for ordering one.???    The water cooler  on the miller  at the farm was using 50 psi and some of the ones I've been lookin at on ebay and the welding  suppliers  were using around there. I can always thro on a PRV , I have laying around from a boiler.  The Airco/heliarc I had apart today had all flare like fittings, so i don't know how one could blow apart???? Was there something I was overlooking or didn't see ???  Thanks for the input. All the parts for the Airco/heliarc-weldcraft and lincon are interchangable...500 AMP AIRCO TIG LINCOLN PT185 100% DC @ 128 AMP-WTFSPEED GLASS 9002X MILLER THUNDERBOLT 225HOBBIEST TURNED WELDING JUNKIE8 2ND FIRECAT - SNOWMOBILE RACE CHASSIS FABRICATORPRIDE IS WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK SO GOOD

Reply:I have all Lincoln stuff....except for my TIG torch.....which is, in my opinion, far superior. CK Worldwide, Inc. Reply:That is the same as the torches on the old Airco on the farm. Now what is better about the CK than the others. I noticed the cut away for the cooling. Plus they seem pretty lite at 3 ounces. Is the pyrex cup and difuser the same as the gas lenses ??   Thanks for the link.old dad, the second one is what I am interested in. Problem , I've beeen havin, is getting someone to order one rather than talking me into the radnor or something different that is on the shelf.500 AMP AIRCO TIG LINCOLN PT185 100% DC @ 128 AMP-WTFSPEED GLASS 9002X MILLER THUNDERBOLT 225HOBBIEST TURNED WELDING JUNKIE8 2ND FIRECAT - SNOWMOBILE RACE CHASSIS FABRICATORPRIDE IS WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK SO GOOD

Reply:am I mistaken or are parts interchangeable between same size torches regardless of manufacturer?    If so then Why worry what brand as long as it is a quality product?I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:I did contact each of the listed "WHER TO BUY" suppliers. unfortunately the first thing on thier websites or phone conversations was MILLER, Radnor or other.  Seems like most welding shops stock plenty of miller and cheaper brands.  As far as interchangeable parts , those aren't the important parts. If you check out the CK link above the important part is the body, its cooling volume, and the "true" flexibility heads, water connection hoses, and size. What I have found is the lincon does "SEEM" to have the best flexing head and tubing materials and also the flex hoses. Where as others don't have nearly the flx and or a cheap version of a flex hose. Some of which lose all flex when cold. The cut away diagram of the CK series definately looks  to be as large as if not bigger than the lincon. Also the CK and lincon are the more expensive models. I would imagine for a reason. The CK had alot of great info and definately a great torch. Some had hoses which could blow off or swell under high pressure. So I guess you can see where I being a novice want the best the first time. If I welded like some of you the torch might not have any input, but a nice comfortable unit makes things easy for a part timer.i have been watching the ebay stores for lincon, not sure If I hit the one you posted. but thanks will search more. For now I am trying to fit up the OLD AIRCO/CK?HELIARC one from the farm.  Those clear pyro cups are sweet.500 AMP AIRCO TIG LINCOLN PT185 100% DC @ 128 AMP-WTFSPEED GLASS 9002X MILLER THUNDERBOLT 225HOBBIEST TURNED WELDING JUNKIE8 2ND FIRECAT - SNOWMOBILE RACE CHASSIS FABRICATORPRIDE IS WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK SO GOOD
