Heres a couple of welds on a vice receiver I'm putting on my table. These were done flat, my vertical weld pictures I took are way out of focus. I'll have to re shoot. Anyway, the bracket is 1/4 , not sure what the receiver channel is maybe 3/16. I used AC (no choice) 1/8 6011 at 100 amps. As you can see I must have sneezed or something on the longer weld. Still trying to get steadier.
Reply:The fillet weld looks like it needs more current to smooth it out.Don't know if you've tried other rods, but 6013 is easier to run a smooth bead, and 7014 spreads like melted butter on a flat fillet weld like that. |
