some pics of my projects

this is a gate that i hand built, each section 15' x 13' i had over 400 hrs in this thing, every part was hand formed, hand hammered[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]this is a custom fire truck body that my crew and i built pic is about 50% completion[IMG][/IMG]
Reply:Very cool! You get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:the gate was built all out of aluminum using pretty much caveman skills and equipment. only modern tools used were a johnson forge furnace and miller pulse mig and pulse tig.the truck on the other hand was made out of mostly 3 x 3 extruded aluminum varying from 1/4 to 3/8 thick  total truck length was 240" was first built on 5 acorn 60 x 120 fixturing tables. squared then welded with miller cp302 with miller XR PYTHON using argon helium mix  wire used was 3/64 4043 welding temp was around 24-27 volts and 350-390 ipm depending on position and fitup.total build time was about 200hrs per truck thats 5guys @40hrs we built a total of 4 identical trucks

Reply:very impressive. do you have any idea what the weight savings are of the aluminum versus steel? or are fire trucks even made out of steel? i have no idea. it looks awesome though. it sure would be a same to have to paint that. it looks so shiney. i like the shiney. the shiney likes andy.  hehehehe. no really... i really REALLY like how it looks unpainted. it just looks so strong and... well, shiney. hehehe. keep up the great work!Later,Andy

Reply:Water is the biggest reason why firetruck bodies are aluminum.Work looks EXCELLENT man.  Were those bodies for ladders or pumpers???Come try it out and stay a while.
