I'm fixing to get another Bobcat, & have thought about a spoolgun to go along with it. Someone has told me that Lincoln has come uot with something that will connect right to the bobcat for mig welding.Has or does anyone know of what "they" are referring too?Thanks to ya'll who can help me out. John
Reply:I've got just the oposite. I've got a Lincoln Ranger 8. I bought a Miller controller with a contactor, a "SGA 100C". I run a Miller 3035 Spoolmate with it. It works pretty good, although it's different from running it on my MM210. There's no preflow of gas.
Reply:Possibly the fact that Lincoln owns CobraMatic?Rumor is Miller is gonna drop their inhouse spool gun line, and offer CobraMatic as the spoolgun option. Yes, I do know CobraMatic ain't really a spoolgun.Actually there isn't a whole lot of connecting involved in hooking a spoolgun or any wire feeder to a Bobcat.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:Thanks for the input. Went on ahead & picked up a 250 Bobcat and the new Lincoln 215 wire welder. For the price maybe the red machine will be o.k. I can always get a spoolgun or a wirefeeder later on. I just hope that I didn't go wrong on getting the 215 Lincoln. |
