light mount

not enough time to make a new bumper for my jeep. so I just made some backup light mounts, mainly to practice welding. this is the fifth time I welded something so all critiquing is welcome.

Reply:I could tell you were using flux core by the spatter.  I can't critique your welds because I CAN critique your PICS.   I am sure the lights will stay on.  Good work for that job.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Since you asked for critiques... I will add that it appears you had just the right settings for attaching the flats to the bumper, but it, also, looks like you were "free handing" when you laid the beads.  Suggest you try to find a way to support your welding hand to achieve a smoother appearance, but this will come with more experience, too.  Fun, ain't it?  Cheers!

Reply:Your welds are better than mine, but for the picts you can try the 'macro' mode (often has a flower icon) in the digital camera. Let's you focus better on closer items. Of course you may already know this and it was a clever ploy to disguise the details of some of your beads...p.s. your picts are way better than mine as well! Whenever I can carve out time to weld,  documentation/education/helping others is overcome by the sheer joy of the sparks and two pieces of metal now being one.
