Widened Wheels

Has anyone modified steel wheels? I'm contemplating getting or doing my own sometime in the future. Any tips or tricks to help ease the process? Attached Images
Reply:a brake lathe does a nice job---cut two wheels to make one wider, watch your backspace or offset dimension.
Reply:Yeah I want to keep the original steel wheels for the look, but allow for a wider piece of rubber for better traction, lol
