So less than 2 weeks to the show. Who is going? I am going to make the trip 6-7 hours north and check it out.I will be checking out miller, hypertherm, and some cnc plasma machines. Also, whatever fab tools come my way.Anybody else?

Reply:Be sure to stop at the Hypertherm booth.....I will be there demonstrating our new 1.5kW Fiber Laser system.....it is mounted on a precision balscrew cutting machine...this machine also has a Hypertherm HPR260xd high definition class plasma system that will be cutting with our True Hole technology, plasma cut holes with no taper, no dig, no divot. Keep in mind that Hypertherm does not produce cutting machines....this is a custom built machine just for demonstrating our Plasma, Laser, CNC controls, torch height controls and CAM nesting software. There will be about 20 Hypertherm cnc plasma systems on various machines at the show.I look forward to meeting any Welding Web memebers!Jim Colt

Reply:If you hit the Lincoln booth early, they usually will give out free copies of their literature. I'm talking thick, hardcover books. I'd come back with hats, stickers, trailer hitch covers, coozies, temp sticks, posters, safety glasses, etc. It was interesting trying to fit everything back in the rental when we were packed in pretty tight to begin with. This was back in Chicago in 2007 I think.
Reply:My wife and I went to last year's FabTech show, and there wasn't much in the way of "free stuff". Unfortunately, I believe it was due to the economy.There was however, some nice deals by several of the vendors. I went to CK Worldwide and got a new Pyrex front-end for one of my Tig torches...1/2 off list. NICE!

Reply:The Fabtech show is November 2 to November 4 at the Geogia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Here is a link to the show site.
