Hi guys, fairly new to the forum, and thanks to all of your input I decided on the HH180 and just picked it up yesterday. I wired up a 240V outlet in the garage and put together the cart and got to work playing with it, trying to get it dialed in. Also took a look around the project forum, TONS of great ideas in there. You guys and this forum are great, a real wealth of information. I am thinking of building a couple of tube bumpers for my truck, but was wondering about bending the tube stock, and what type to use. Has anyone had any experience with the $99 Harbor Freight hydraulic orange pipe benders they sell? They look like they would work if you didn't have to make too sharp of a bend, but I'm not sure. Any input would be great. Thanks a bunch and keep up with the great info.

Reply:Here's my new machine and it's cart/tank, etc . The machine is great, although still getting used to it. The cart I bought I am kind of disappointed in. It's sturdy, but it had a lot of tweaked parts of it, and when I bent them so it would fit together, the "paint" or cheap powder coating or whatever it's covered it, cracked right off . Plus it had a couple little spots that already had rust on them. As far as carts go, I think I could have built a better one myself. I am posting some bead pics further down the page too, maybe you guys could trouble shoot them for me, offer criticsms, etc?The only thing I have really done with it so far is practice and make some brackets for lights on my trailer, but after I welded the seams on the angle, I ground everything smooth and painted, so they look like they were formed that way. Turned out pretty good. Lemme knoow what you guys think about the beads. Thanks again for the feedback. Attached Images
Reply:Here are a couple practice beads and one fillet, let me know what you guys think, and what I can do to improve... thanks! btw-the spatter looks bad because it's from all the other welds around it. I have the gas set on 25 CFH, is that about right? Attached Images"If at first you don't succeed... get a bigger HAMMER"HH180
