i need information on welding oversea's does anyone have any sound advice?

currently i am looking into obtaining a placement over the summer in las vegas, ive searched the internet on working visa's but nowhere i look gives me enough information on what is needed on my part. So far ive discovered i will need an interview with the US embassy, The visa fees will be roughly £1000 but what i am really struggling with is my record. i have a section 5 public order on it and i cant find anywhere if this will hold me back!If any one could give me some advice on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Reply:Sound advice,Don't go....It's not like what you see on T.V. unless you got mega money.I grew up in Vegas and got out as soon as possible. It's a ****hole. You like the idea of being able to cook an egg on the ground? *120 is common during the summer months. Open the door to your oven, and that's Vegas in the summer.Vegas has the largest unemployment in the Nation.The Casino's have cut back and are full.Cunstruction is slow / dried up.Almost everything is union.What's the rational behind trying to go to Vegas?If you just want to party for a summer and see the most beautiful women on the planet in one area it may work out well. But, the lifestyle is expensive, and the jobs in that city and this country are few and far between.Obviously, if you can sling it.....You could find a job. But, if your an average welder I think you'll be hard pressed to even get a look. Reply:cheers for the advice everyone, the only reason im wanting to go there is to follow my longtime gf but ill be sure to let her know what you guys have told me. But would anyone know of any good area's that arent that much of a dive and there might be some work?
