First off, thanks to the guys who linked me to the picture resizer. Sorry I don't remember who it was off the top of my head. These are some expanded metal tool boxes I built for my work truck. I have 6 guys on my crew who work out of this truck, so things need to be organized. I cut the expanded metal with a 4"diamond wheel originally for ceramic tile. It worked really well. I currently have about half of the stuff onboard that I do in the summer, but before I added these the bed was completely full, and impossible to get things out of  without cursing and yanking. I used small chunks of old conveyor belt to isolate the boxes from the body and attached them with four 3/8" grade 8 bolts per box. I also used rubberized sealing washers on the inside and loctite and have had no leaks. You can stand on them and they don't budge. Rattle can paint job going on 3 yrs now I think. Attached Images
Reply:Skid plate/receiver hitch for quad. I bought the quad from a buddy who went through 2 aluminum skid plates. Both bent till they hit the disc or chain. So... screw the weight, I'm going steel. The way this mounts makes it hard to design something strong enough, but so far so good. I've smacked some good size rocks at speed and survived. In hindsight, I'll probably not use the trailer as much as I thought I would( hard on the clutch, methinks)...tractor is better, but still think it's cool. Attached Images
Reply:Good stuff!Nice finger.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Thanks zap. Being a safety conscious sort of fellow I have another seven similar fingers, and a couple thumbs to go with 'em!
Reply:I guess it's just harder to cover the license plate with your big toe and take a sharp picture...for a few seconds I was looking really hard at your tailgate and thinking, "what the heck am I missing on that tailgate?"...and, then I realized...duhBy the way, that's a neat idea on the toolboxes.  I have seen a few like yours on trailers, but not on trucks.  My dad has a tendency of leaving his boxes open and having them fill up with water, or having tools walk away.  This would really work well for him.  Thanks for the idea.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:Smithboy- I have been really happy with them. The thing that surprised me is how strong they are. I think I tacked each diamond. If you don't they rattle. Some of my guys are big boys and they can be pretty rough on things, but these have held up great.
Reply:Nice work. What atv is that?
