I'm still new to welding and am wondering if anybody can reccomend any online guides or anything to help me learn. I've found lots of info here and on the net about the different processes and equiptment but not a whole lot on how to pick it all up and use it. I'm mainly looking for info on mig but info on other processes would be ok too.
Reply:i always give this as a helping point for mig http://hobartwelders.com/techtips.html scroll on down and you'll find some examplesStangnetShop Full Of Stuff. Joey
Reply:I recommend that you go buy a book like "Welding Essentials".  It has process descriptions and instructions on equipment set-up and use for all of the welding processes.  I use mine all the time for quick reference.  It's a good investment. There's also a lot of good feeback about the Miller student package.  You can order it through www.millerwelds.comHank
Reply:I learned from the book "Welder's Handbook: A Complete Guide to Mig, Tig, Arc & Oxyacetylene Welding" by Richard Finch.  It's designed for beginners.  This book is available at most Home Depot's.I bought a Lincoln 110v MIG welder and it came with good instructions for the beginner as well.
Reply:i'll tell you another great read. Get one of the Army welding manuals on cdrom from ebay. Very good help!!StangnetShop Full Of Stuff. Joey
