Aquarium stand too big. Let's chop it!Depth is fine. Width had to be reduced. Momma's been waiting on it a long time. The extra shelf gave me an idea. I had a bunch of square tubing somebody left in my junkpile. My neighbors do that.I had an old leftover sheet of 10 ga nasty crusty and rusty hot rolled leaning against the shop, with a fire ant nest built up the side. Actually it wasn't that hard to clean up.The 1/2" square tubing somebody left in my junkpile. It was a steel fence panel somebody replaced and there are about fifty six foot lengths of 1/2 square tubing on the thing. It's easy to break loose from the panel's horizontal. I've been using the hell out of it. A day project. Thought of, started and finished in an easy day.I like it just the way it is. Before, I had to move all the stuff to the bandsaw if I wanted to use the drillpress and then back to the drill if I needed the saw. If I had to use both, the stuff went to the water fountain. I was tired of doing that so I was thinking about a deep, narrow table to hold my small index of good drills and the big index of nearly worthless HF drills and the vice. It was fun to make in an afternoon and I ain't even gonna paint it.
Reply:good work. what chop saw is that?
Reply:It's my Milwaukee. I really don't use it that often these days. I have a delta compound miter saw I got from lowe's six years ago. I mounted it on a former air conditioner stand and use abrasive blades in it and it makes perfect miters. The old Milwaukee does get used some. It's built two fair sized metal buildings and a fair amount of other things. I like the way the fumes smell when ya use it.
Reply:i love my delta compound miter saw. i have finished out my house with new trim and rebuilt my storage building with it. not to mention using it at work all day.
Reply:Nice tank stand. That fish tank looks very simular to a video I saw in YouTube last night. It really had my imagination going after watching the video:http://www.youtube.com/v/PtufuXLvOok&rel=1Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom. |
