I started a thread in the tools and cutting section last week. Here are some pictures of the support bar storage box I am making out of a piece of 1/8" sheet metal.... and some of my equipment. Attached Images
Reply:The first two are of the box. The others are of my welding cart.If you look closely, you can see the haz on the box where I welded everything up. Settings on the box were wire speed of 3, voltage setting D. I turned the voltage down to C for the hinges. Attached ImagesLast edited by wicrules; 02-15-2008 at 09:52 PM.
Reply:what are you going to store in the box, and by the way, nice drill press stand
Reply:Glad it worked! Oh ya, that type of blade will make a mess. Me!

Reply:Mess doesn't quite describe what I have in my shop right now Between the cutting, welding, grinding, etc... I can't even see my floor. That drill press stand is a recycled sewing machine stand. It was free and I always like free. What's it going to store? Our travel trailer has a rear slide out. There are two bars which colapse down when not attached to the trailer. I am going to store those bars in the box on the rear bumper and get them out of my primary storage compartment where space is a premium. And, the welding cart and table were my first two projects with the mig....Thanks for the comments btw!Wic

Reply:Off topic- How does that abrasive blade work on the skil saw? Just wondering
Reply:I didn't have any problems using them on my saw. Granted, the saw's guard assembly was metal and not plastic. As many sparks as it generated, a plastic guard would have melted pretty quick. One note- I purchased a Dewalt disk and two more from Harbor Freight. The Dewalt disk was smooth and easy to use. The disk from Harbor Freight tended to vibrate and skip around a little. So, buy decent disks if you are going to do it.Wic
Reply:i hated my rockler guide. sent it back after the first run down the side.nice box though, looks good.
