I just can't seem to get the hang of welding with my Maxstar 150 with a hand control. I'm use to welding with a foot control but thought I would try out a hand control for this little powerhouse. Trying to manipulate the hand control and maintain the torch in the proper place is a pain in the a@@. Maybe it's just me but I end up just turning the control on full and not coming off slow like I would with the foot control.
Reply:Nope. Hand control pretty much sucked any time I tried it. I'm sure there are people out there that can do it and do it well, but I stick with a foot control.
Reply:I only use the thumb control when a foot pedal cannot be used and when i do use it it seems like I spend more time removing tungsten from weld than I do welding.
