The application is automotive gutter trim end-caps.  Below is a photograph of the item in question.  Anyone know how I could have the open-end pinched closed and finished (filled? polished?) to match?  Then I would slide it over the unfinished rain gutter trim end for a finished look. Make sense?  Help?
Reply:is that aluminum? i would expect trim to be ss or chromed steel.Dynasty 200DXPassport plus w/ spoolmate 100victor 315c oxy/(act and prop)Miller digital elitemilwaukee power tools
Reply:I always thought these were aluminum...  Now I'm not sure!  So I sent an email to someone that should know.  I'll be back! Originally Posted by turkis that aluminum? i would expect trim to be ss or chromed steel.
Reply:All the trim like that on my Falcon is indeed polished aluminum..Very easy to bend and break. How to recreate these is going to be difficult at best.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:quite a few were stainless.

Reply:Almost evey car part in the world is available somewhere... might be easier to start looking for a new NOS pair.  What does it fit?Lincoln Power MIG 215Lincoln WeldPak 3200HDLincon ProCut 25Lincoln WeldanPower 225 AC/DCIf all else fails... buy more tools
Reply:I wish this was available somewhere!  I have been looking for the associated drip-rail molding for my Jeep Grand Wagoneer for a long time... No go.  For this project... This piece/cap was never an available part.  I simply just don't like the unfinished look of end profile of the drip-rail molding.  So this would be a one-off.    Make sense?   Originally Posted by PapaLionAlmost evey car part in the world is available somewhere... might be easier to start looking for a new NOS pair.  What does it fit?
Reply:Correction: Material is Stainless-Steel.  Help?  Originally Posted by clappercThe application is automotive gutter trim end-caps.  Below is a photograph of the item in question.  Anyone know how I could have the open-end pinched closed and finished (filled? polished?) to match?  Then I would slide it over the unfinished rain gutter trim end for a finished look. Reply:Well, get a small piece of stainless,  file/grind it to be a light push fit in the end, have it silver brazed or welded into place and reshape the end.  Easily said, but you need the skills to do it.
