I was wondering if anyone has any experance with the Real Gear brand plasmas. They use a thermal dynamics torch my LWS has one and its on sale.I would say its a little better than the pure china ones due to the TD torch any info would be great here is one on ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/RealGear-Plasma-...#ht_783wt_1135
Reply:All of the other "Real Gear" stuff the LWS has sold me was junk, doubt this will be any better. From what ive heard GTS has lost lots of business because they switched over to the Real Gear stuff.And you do know that Real Gear is made in china right? Have we all gone mad?
Reply:I suspect they will work better with the T-D torch. The seller on Ebay is a frequent poster on this site.Jim
Reply:Yes I know its china stuff but i thought maybe with a td torch it would be a better option than a HF or other full Chinese cutter. I really want a hypertherm or a TD but it's just hard to swing 1500 right now for it. I don't really like dealing with gts they don't come off to friendly usually I deal with my local fab shop and they hook me up with great prices on the supply's I need.
Reply:If you buy that unit it will make the Hypertherm or TD that much more expensive when you'll really need a quality machine.
Reply:I agree, although I have not tested one, that it most likely will work better with the T-D torch than it would with the Trafimet torch or the copy of an Esab PT31 that these units usually come with. The torch is a big part of any plasma systems performance.Jim |
