Large Fuel Pickup Project for boat..pics

I decided that the small pickup tubes in my tanks(alum) are not going to cut it for the future EFI blower project. So I cut a 3" round plate with a cool SPI trepanning tool on the Bpt. out of some .090 alum. I then drilled the holes for the -12AN bungs. I offset them because I am going to also run a vent system as well. The aluminum bung for the vent will be 1/4 NPT. I do not have any of those so I might just make some. I tigged the -12AN bungs on. That is how far I am right now. I have some tubing I am going to weld on the backside of the fitting but I cannot do that yet till I am ready with the tank to get the length for the tube just right. Seems kind of overkill large but I had -12AN bungs on hand so I used them. I will post more pics as I progress. Reply:Isn't that always the case? You can't just go and buy what you want so you have to make it yourself? Very cool. Nothing looks as trick as AN fittings with colored anodizing. Reply:Nice work. Thanks for the suggestion on the SPI trepanning tool. I make a couple of items with cut disks and the hole saw dosn't give me a finish I'm happy with. A lathe is an option I would love but I can't afford a big one for the little work I need it for. I'll find a nice cheap used one some day, then where to put it hmmm. I do have something similar to that for cutting circles on a drill press, but haven't gotten around to digging it up and giving it a try. I see a cleaning and project day this week in the future.
